Digital products are this year’s MVP of offers. But I’m willing to bet that if you’re here reading this right now, you probably haven’t set up shop yet. You’ve been thinking about it for a while, but just aren’t sure where to start. And…you want to make sure these bad boys are profitable enough before you put in the effort, right?
Well, stick around because I’m going to show you how a few tried and true digital products can make for one very profitable business. You ready??
Templating processes, workflows, and creative work is one of the best ways to make moolah from a digital product. Why? Because chances are, they’re something we all need in our business — like social media graphics, Asana templates, or swipe copy.
Think about things you use over and over in your business — even some things you use daily. What can be turned into a template that can make it easy for others to do the same?
Remember, it may seem easy to you, but it could be an absolute lifesaver to someone else. For example, if you’re a web designer, you may think…”okay, website templates aren’t that hard to use. Would anyone really want to buy them?”
But to someone who doesn’t know a thing about web design, you’ve just taken a huge weight off their shoulders and cleared up more time for them to get something else done. Time is money, and templates that save both are a cash cow.
Depending on what you offer, these may not be quite as easy to muster up as the templates, but they’re still a worthwhile investment. Of course, you could always draw up some from scratch…OR you could just take workbooks, spreadsheets, and bonuses from your existing courses and turn them into digital products to sell.
You can also take 4 or 5 of your most popular blogs and turn them into their own collective workbook. And so you’re not ripping people off by charging them for information they can get for free online, take it a step further and add deliverables.
This could include action items, checklists, to-dos, and additional resources they won’t be able to find for free on your blog! Don’t be afraid to jazz it up.
It’s 2022 — who doesn’t like journaling at this point? From business to mental health, the benefits of prompts and journaling are insane! So why not provide your audience with some that have helped you?
Especially from one entrepreneur to another, you have insight others don’t. Creating a journal based on your experiences might be just what a customer needs.
For example, you can do a simple reflection journal where you include prompts that help people, well, reflect on the week or month behind them. Or a quick win journal with prompts to help them navigate seasons of feeling stuck.
If you do decide to do this though, make sure it’s on brand!
And if you’re not into the journaling thing, you can still sell social media prompts — we could all use some help with our Instagrams, Facebook, TikToks, etc!
Video content is becoming more and more popular, but a lot of people are still hesitant to get on board because of the time that goes into it. And coming from someone who used to be that person myself, a big reason is because they aren’t sure what to say.
This is where scripts come in! Not everyone is in a place to hire a YouTube production team or content writers to help with this, so templated scripts can do the trick.
If you’re well-versed in webinars, Instagram lives, or YouTube, why not give this a go?
Everyone loves to be organized, but not everyone loves to GET organized (hi, it’s me…). That’s why the world loves project managers so much. But again, not everyone is in a place to hire help right now, so what’s the next best thing? Pre-made project management boards!
You can premake these in places like Trello, Asana, or ClickUp and sell them as templates. It can help people plan and organize launches, new products, and even daily task management and to-dos.
Email is one of the best marketing tools out there, and a lot of that has to do with how much time we spend checking our inboxes
Instead of someone needing to pull up an additional document or look in yet another place to find daily tips and tricks, why not just use email instead? Then, it’s all in one place, easy for them to see, and gives them something to look forward to getting in their inboxes every morning!
All you would need to do is list this as a digital product, and once they purchase, add them to a purchaser-only segment in your email service provider to fire off the automation and emails!
You can also do the same thing via text message services.
Now that you have a pretty good idea of what’s out there in terms of digital product ideas, your next step is to get your shop set up!
But knowing which platform is right for you, and then how to actually set up said platform, is a lot harder than it looks (and admittedly, might be why you’ve been putting it off for so long).
If that’s you, check out this video below — I’m showing you the difference between my two favorite platforms and how you can start using them TODAY to finally get things going!
