Are your digital product sales flatlining…or even falling? You feel like you’re doing all the right things on social media or in emails, but you’re just not getting the sales numbers you’re hoping for. What gives?
Don’t fret — I’m here to help. These tips will help you explode your digital product sales. Some of them are so simple and easily missed that, once done, you’ll see a boost in your digital product sales in no time.
I know this sounds kinda obvious, but when you’re a biz owner with a million other things to worry about, it’s an opportunity that can easily be missed! So, if you have a new customer that’s about to buy from you, try one of these methods of proving you’re worth their money.
Customer reviews are suuuper important because they influence other customers’ decisions, as well as your brand’s overall reputation. We’re social creatures, and we all wanna make sure that we’re making the “right” kind of purchase.
Positive reviews tell people that your stuff is worth buying, so feature them prominently to prove you’re trustworthy! Oh, and make sure you’re asking for those customer reviews in the first place.
Here’s an easy way to improve your customer service: think about what you would consider excellent customer service! Maybe it’s having an easy-to-use website (more on that later), responding to messages quickly, or having lots of free resources available.
Speaking of top-notch customer service, a refund policy is crucial when providing for your customers. People want to feel safe in making a purchase, and a refund policy can do that.
Now that your customers know you’re legit and feel like they can trust you, give ‘em that little extra push to buy. A semi-annual sale is just the thing to create a sense of urgency since you’re offering sweet discounts for a limited time only.
There’s a lot to consider when running a big sale, but it’s a fantastic way to grow your digital product shop and boost your sales numbers. Plus, once you have the first successful sale under your belt, future sales get easier and easier to do!
I talk about hosting a semi-annual sale to help grow your shop, so be sure to watch it and take notes.
If I had a nickel for every low-quality, pixelated product image I saw — or no product image at all — I’d have a lot of nickels, folks. Don’t make either mistake!
Crystal clear product images show your customer what they’re buying. It’s pretty simple. How often have you bought a product when you had no idea what it looked like?! Clear, accurate product images also boost your credibility and make your customers trust you. And we’ve already covered how important that is.
Digital product creators, you’re not off the hook. You can easily share images of digital products in your product listings, too. (In fact, they may be even easier to create and include.)Have a flawless checkout process
I just recently talked about winning back lost sales when people abandon their online shopping carts. One of the reasons that abandonment can happen? A too-long, buggy, or annoying checkout process.
Having a flawless checkout process is crucial for closing each and every purchase! Your checkout process can have a huge effect on your digital product sales.
Walk through your customer’s checkout process yourself and see how it can be improved. Are there any unnecessary or out-of-order steps? Like, do you ask them to sign in or create an account after they’ve already entered their payment information? Think of ways to ditch those steps or make them better. Your customers (and your business) will thank you.
How many times can I say that your job isn’t over once you sell and deliver your digital product? The limit does not exist. Those next steps after someone purchases your digital product can make or break your new customer relationship!
Nurture that new relationship by continuing to be credible, trustworthy, and helpful. Of course, you should deliver the purchased product immediately with a confirmation email, but check to make sure that you’re delivering other important info, too. Like download or login instructions.
Then, share content that you think your customer will like. Tutorials, video walkthroughs, case studies, an extra freebie like a checklist can sweeten the deal. You could even ask for feedback and start a conversation, showing your customer that you truly care and appreciate their support.
As you can see, these tips for boosting your digital product sales all share a common idea: focusing on and meeting your customers’ needs. You can’t increase your sales if your customers don’t trust you, know what you offer, or complete your checkout process!
I want you to keep that in mind when you’re hoping to see a spike in digital product sales. It’s all about your customers, baby. Look at your website, product pages, and checkout process from their POV. Improve and tweak where you can, and watch your sales grow.
Now that you know how to explode your digital product sales, maybe you’re thinking about your next goal for your shop! If you’re ready to grow your digital product shop and take it to the next level, I’ve got the video for you here!
